First impressions of NIV NAVA in neonatal patients

The neonatal intensive care unit of Turku University Hospital in Finland implemented an active weaning policy in 2001 in extremely low birth weight infants, with significant results. The NICU implemented NAVA during 2009, and clinically evaluated non-invasive NAVA. NICU Director Dr Liisa Lehtonen shares her observations and experiences with NIV NAVA in a series of pre-term and very low birth weight infants.
